On March 8, 2015 GeoCapital Microfiance Organization dedicated the recently completed “GC Park” to the people of Kutaisi. The ceremony was held at Z. Gamsakhurdia # 25, nearby GeoCapital’s branch office.
The event was open to the public.Attendees included the Mayor of Kutaisi Shota Murghulia, Chairman of City Council Mr. David Dvali, Vice-Mayor Mr. NodarMikiashvili and other local government officials and business leaders. The event was attended by a lot of children, who spent a great time thanks to the friendlyclown brought by GeoCapital.Toward the end of the ceremony, guests were served a corporate cake and drinks. Everyone attending was treated to a fireworks show and a concert.
“We built this park for the people of Kutaisi. At GeoCapital, we especially care about the youth and the future generation of the city. We wanted to create a pleasant spot for people to meet, relax and enjoy free wireless internet.” -says IrmaSvanadze who is GeoCapital’s General Director and also a native of Kutaisi. “This park is one of the ways we are giving back to our local community”.
The Park has a contemporary design by a local architect and it makes liberal use of stone, tile and plants to create a comfortable resting space in the middle of the city. GC Park is also equipped with free public Wi-Fi internet giving both local residents and Kutaisi visitors an easy path to the internet. At night, the park will be well lit and the entire area is equipped with CCTV cameras to promote safe enjoyment by all visitors.
In the future GeoCapital plans to organize more interesting events in GC Park and establish a good practice in the social life of Kutaisi.
Since its formation in 2011 GeoCapital has provided thousands of people across Western Georgia with business and personal loans. The company does not only carry out commercial work, but also provides charity and educational projects which are intended to improve the social situation in Georgia and help the local community in adapting the contemporary challenges.
In 2012 GeoCapital founded a non-for profit organization “GeoCapital Education” which has taught thousands of people the basics of personal budgeting and small business finance through workshops in the Imereti region.
GeoCapital will keep launching the charity and educational projects in the future and intends to improve social and economic development of the society.
