From May 19 to 21, 2026, the 28th Annual MFC Conference was held in Durrës, Albania,, bringing together over 500 experts from 49 countries. The event was attended by representatives of microfinance organizations, banks, investors, regulators, technology companies, and associations.
The key theme of the event was “Microfinance in Transition: Is Purpose at Risk?”. Participants discussed how the sector can maintain its social mission amid changes in capital markets, digital transformation, climate challenges, and geopolitical uncertainty.
As in previous years, this year’s conference also featured many participants from Georgia.
